MATTHEWS, Harley William ¨Bill¨ II, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 21st, 2021 in his home in Clio, MI. He was 60 years old.
Bill was born on May 24th, 1960 in Flint, MI to the late Harley and Cleo Matthews. He attended Grand Blanc High School and later went on to master the trade of Locksmithing. He established his company A&A Lock and Key. Known for his skill and work ethic he had built an exemplary reputation that he took pride in for more than 30 years. He was quite literally a phone call away, any time, any day, ready to save you from your troubles.
Bill was a man of wit and charm, well known for his humor and complex nature, he could and did unlock his way into many hearts. He was an amazing Father, a loving and doting Papa, a supportive Brother, and a loyal friend. He had a way of making anyone laugh and was always available to lend an ear to listen, ready to be of support.
Bill is survived by his children: Justin Morris, Alexandria Matthews, Shianne Matthews, and Angela Matthews; grandchildren: Mya Matthews, Khaleesia Matthews, Avery Morris; sisters: Cindy Gessel (Bob) and Jan Shafer; and former wife and good friend Maria Matthews.
His devotion to his loved ones and those who relied on him went unprecedented. He leaves behind him countless memories and impactful moments that he had with his family, friends, and community. He will be profoundly missed.
Friends and members of the community are invited to attend the visitation from 10am to 12pm Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A private more intimate service will be held.
