of Swartz Creek, Michigan, age 58, died Wednesday, July 7, 2021. He was cremated per his wishes. A gathering of friends and family will be from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Rossell Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. Deacon Richard Rymar will officiate.
Scott was born in Flint, Michigan on November 10, 1962 to Leo and Donna (Vaughn) McGuire. He attended Flushing High School where he met the love of his life, Mary. During their 40+ years together, he obtained his Master’s of Social Work from Michigan State University. Scott worked as a behavioral health clinical therapist at McLaren Oakbridge Center where he positively impacted thousands of lives alongside his cherished coworkers. His favorite things to do were to spend time with his family, hike, kayak, and read. He also took great pride in his lawn.
Scott is survived by his wife, Mary McGuire; children, Taylor (Kyle Cooper) McGuire, Abbie (Adam) Gallaher, Megan McGuire, and Connor McGuire; his beloved dog, Jackson; brothers, Bruce (Cathy) McGuire, Matt (Rhonda) McGuire, and Andrew (Becky) McGuire; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Donna McGuire; sister, Leslie (Bill) O’Neal; and grandparents, Florence and Andrew McGuire. |
