Barbara Marie (Raab) Hardenburg, age 87 of Flint Township, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024 in Grand Blanc, Michigan. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary of the First Presbyterian Church, 746 S. Saginaw Street, Flint, Michigan with Rev. Paul Ytterock and the Rev. Dr. Joseph Novak officiating with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc, Michigan. Visitation will be held at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Road, Grand Blanc, Michigan from on Friday, January 3, 2024 from 4pm - 8pm and one hour prior to service in the church parlor.

Barbara was born September 23, 1937 in Flint, Michigan to the late Edwin F. and Hilda M. (Roe) Raab. She graduated from Flint Central High School class of 1956. She also graduated from Flint Junior College (Mott College) in 1958 and then went on to Michigan State University. She also graduated from Baker College in Flint, Michigan. Barbara married Norman A. Hardenburg on October 18, 1975 at First Presbyterian Church, Flint, Michigan. They celebrated 33 wonderful years of marriage. She was a life member of First Presbyterian Church of Flint, Michigan. She served as both Deacon and Elder, and taught Sunday school for many years.

Barbara was employed at McLaren Flint for 27 years in the accounting department, retiring in March 1989. She joined the McLaren Flint Auxiliary in 1988 where she became a life member and was chairman of the Comfort Sewers service for more than 30 years. She enjoyed making items for the patients, especially fleece blankets. Barbara was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution for over 40 years, Happy Travelers Club, The Flint Genealogical Society, and the Local 1292 retires. She was a "Big Sister" for ten years and continues to keep in touch with one of her "Little Sisters" Deborah (Phil) Harbert.

Barbara's hobbies were sewing, genealogy research, gardening, and traveling. After Norman and Barbara's retirement, they spent many winters at their condo in Dunedin, Florida. She enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the First Presbyterian Church (Deacon's Neighborhood Breakfast Fund) 746 S. Barbara is survived by her nieces and nephews: Peter (Merrie) Raab of Flushing, MI, Paula (Scott) Fuller of Flint, MI and Pamela (Glenn) Campbell of Woodlands, TX, Amy (Zoltan) Nagy, Jeff (Jill) Hardenburg, Steve Hardenburg, Darrell Hardenburg, Ron (Trish) Hardenburg, Tim Hardenburg, Mike Hardenburg, Greg (Karen) Hardenburg; great nieces and nephew, Aubrie (David) Main of Flushing, MI, Andrew (Rachel) Brown of Tomball, TX, Shannon (John) Stempowski of Macomb, MI, and Azalee Leonard of Montrose, MI; and great grand nieces and nephews: Kinley Brown, Caden Brown, Brooklynn Main, Olivia Main, Wesley Stempowski, Emersyn Stempowski, Donald Fee, and Oakley Fee; many cousins and wonderful friends; and brother-in-laws: Marvin Hardenburg and Eldon Hardenburg both of Grand Blanc, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman A. on September 18, 2009; parents; brother, Richard E. Raab on June 17, 2004; sister-in-laws: Ilene Hardenburg and Mary Louise Hardenburg.
