Renee' Douganna Jones- Neal was born October 5, 1954 to Douglas and Augustine Jones in East Chicago, Indiana, the third of 9 children. Renee' (all so known as "Nay") graduated from Northern High School is 1973. She attended Mott Community College and graduated with an Associate in Business Administration. She began her employment in the secretarial administration field and did so for 10 plus years in the Flint and Detroit, MI areas.
Renee was known for her voice! Always singing and being life of the party. She lit up a room when she walked in yelling “HELLO!!” She was fast on her feet and she was also funny. While growing up, she would often out-run her 5 brothers… in bare feet! Anyone who knew her knew if she wasn’t barefoot, the shoes would soon be flying off!!! But she was so loved. She would give the clothes off her back if it meant helping someone. Renee had one of the biggest hearts of anyone you would know. She was so much like her Dad too – knock-kneed, tall, and proud to be a Jones!!! The Jones Family would give annual concerts at their church and Renee’s rich alto voice would provide the most beautiful harmony.
Renee' loved her family so much!! Her life revolved around her children and grandchildren. She moved to Columbus, OH to be closer to them as they began to have families of their own. Renee began working for JP Morgan Chase where she processed mortgage applications. She said she liked her job because she was able to help those in need. She retired from JP Morgan Chase after 9 years in 2020.
Renee' was also very involved in church ministries. She had a church family spanning from Vision of the Word Ministries, Exciting Family Faith, Kingdom of Heaven Ministries and Family Worship Center Church. She was as a praise team leader and choir member. She was always singing!!! She also served on the hospitality and banquet committees. Known for her powerful, angelic, anointed voice, Renee' traveled the country sharing the word of God through her vocal gift. Renee' was also a member of several esteemed gospel groups based out of Flint, MI. She loved spending time with her 30 grandchildren, cooking, bowling, dancing, playing cards and being an avid “trash talker”. She also loved supporting her children at sporting events, plays, fashion shows and concerts. You would be sure that during these events you knew who she was there supporting.
Renee' married Brian Neal on July 21,1984 and was married for 26 years. Together they had a blended family of 9 wonderful children. Renee' is survived by her children: Terrell Coleman , Felicia Coleman, and Jason Jamison of Chicago, IL; James Jones , Kenneacka (Chris Sr.) Anthony , Matthew (Chanda) Neal, Elizabeth Neal, and Kevin Moore (son in law),all of Columbus, OH. She has 30 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Fredrick (Odette) Jones, Jeffery Jones, and Keilan Jones of Flint, MI; Eunard Jones, of Dallas TX, Diedra (Russell) Padgett of Temple Hills, MD, Davin (Peggy) Jones of Maumee Oh, and Michi Jones of Alexandria VA. She is also survived by a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Renee' was proceeded in death by her parents Douglas and Augustine Jones, her son Joshua Neal, and her daughter Jennifer Satchell.
