Harold Edwin Kerbyson, of Flushing, Michigan, age 89, died at home surrounded by his family on October 26, 2023. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Friday, November 3, 2023, at Rossell Funeral Home. A chapel service will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Flint Memorial Park. Guests are invited to meet at Rossell Funeral Home on Saturday at 10:15 a.m. to join the procession or meet at the cemetery at the time of the service. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, the American Cancer Society, or the Genesee County Humane Society.
Harold was born on March 19, 1934, to Richard and Nettie (Groombridge) Kerbyson. He graduated from Beecher High School in 1952 and earned his degree from GMI (General Motors Institute) in 1956. Harold proudly served in the US Army. He married Sylvia Mabbs on June 6, 1959. He spent his career working at General Motors Buick Motor Division for 35 years and retired as a Senior Industrial Engineer. He celebrated being a Mason for over 50 years and was involved in the Genesee Valley Commandery #15, Flint Rapids Chapter #116, and Mt. Morris Lodge #535. He loved travelling to other countries with his wife, and his sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Mike Buben. He also loved the outdoors and watching the wildlife that came to his yard.
Harold is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sylvia Kerbyson of Flushing; daughters, Margo Kerbyson of Flushing and Lori (Jeff) Fallis of Flushing; grandchildren, Calista (Greg) Maynard of Flint, Jennifer (Adrian) Jones of Flushing, Michael (Alicia) Bruner of Flushing, Matthew (Sarah) Bruner of Clarkston, Tyler (Mary) Fallis of Flushing, Amanda Fallis of Saginaw, Tony (Lindsay) Hunt of Linden, Lee (Melissa) Hunt of Birch Run, and Tara Kerchner (Trevor Janow) of Holly; 15 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Jennifer Greene of Claire; and former son-in-law, Rick Bruner of Flushing. He was preceded in death by his daughter, April Kerchner; parents, Richard and Nettie Kerbyson; mother-in-law, Gladys Mabbs; brother, James Kerbyson; sisters, Betty (Mike) Buben and Evelyn (Roy) Thomas; and sister-in-law, Laura Woollard. |
