Ms. Joyce Caroline Houston was born October 9, 1954 in Texarkana, Arkansas, to her parents George Connor and Corinne Nash-Murrell.
Ms. Houston attend Southwestern High School in Flint, Michigan. She was a fun-loving woman and was the life of any gathering. Joyce absolutely loved music and loved attending concerts. You could always find her playing and listening to everything from gospel, blues, jazz and definitely funk. Joyce loved fashion and was always wearing the latest and best fashions. She was a beautiful woman at 5’ 11” and always looked stunning with a lovely smile and outgoing personality. She was a member of New Zion Baptist Church of Texarkana, TX. She attended faithfully and loved her church home.
Ms. Houston leaves to cherish her memory: 6 living children, Gregory (Crystal) Houston, Dimetrus (Tracy) Houston of Grand Rapids, MI, Williameon “Mimi” Houston of Flint, MI, Lacronna Houston of Brooklyn, NY, Connie Houston of Detroit, MI, and Dontello. 11 living grandchildren Ta’Nihya Houston, Mieka Houston, Nirvana Houston, Alexis Houston, Arquentis Houston, An’shonique Houston, Alivia Cox, Zoe Houston, Zaria Houston, Zavior Houston and Rosalind Houston. Sisters, Jackie Connor and Renee Connor, brothers, Ronnie Nash, Maurice Connor, Andrew Gordon and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Ms. Houston is preceded in death by father George Connor, mother Corinne Nash-Murrell, her son Isaac and grandson Devell Greene.
