Arceo, David M. - of Flint Township, age 93, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 21, 2025.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025, 10:30 am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide Street, Fenton.

Visitation Tuesday, December 30, 2025 from 3-8 pm at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in Great Lakes National Cemetery with military graveside service by the American Legion Post #294.

Those desiring may make contributions to memorial Masses at St John's, Fenton.

David was born in Flint, Michigan on December 24, 1931, the son of the late Rafael and Fermina Arceo and was a life-long resident of the Flint area.

As a high school Junior, David joined the Michigan Army National Guard. He graduated from Central High School, class of 1950, and attended Flint Junior College and GMI.

David married Olga Romanowski on May 18, 1957 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.

David was employed as Senior Designer, Master Mechanics Department, Fisher Body Flint Plant No. 1, General Motors Corporation for over 35 years retiring in 1985. David also retired from the Michigan Army National Guard on January 1, 1992 with 43 years of service obtaining the grade of E9 (Command Sergeant Major). He was a member of Swartz Creek American Legion Post 294, Non-Commissioned Officers Association, Hispanic Technology Center, enjoyed being a member of the 60th Class Reunion for Class of 1950, formal member of UAW Local 581, and of Charter Township of Flint Planning Commission for over 24 years. David also served on the Genesee County Road Commission from 2013 to 2022. He was also the Treasurer and President of the Flint Federal Credit Union for 8 years. Outstanding Member of the Knights of Columbus.

Other notables: Usher for Saint Mary’s Queen of Angels. Master of backyard grilling with PBR-infused steaks. Chairman of singing “Reveille" to wake his kids. President of making paper airplanes. King of squishing ice cream to make it creamy like soft serve. Lead Instructor of how to spit-shine his six pairs of combat boots. And last but not least, Command Sergeant Major of being the Best Dad Ever.

Surviving are sons Paul (Marilyn), James, Tomas; daughter Kathleen (Edgar) Arceo Garza; Grandchildren Alex, Sam, Kaeli, Aimee, Pablo, Diana and Daniel; great granddaughter Madilyn; sister Nancy Foley; and several nieces and nephews that also made life with them beautiful memories.

David was preceded in death by wife Olga, brothers Ruben (Margaret) and Ralph.
