Larry Allen Wing – Age 71 passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, in Grand Blanc, Michigan. Larry was born in Flint, Michigan on April 19, 1952. He attended Flint Schools and graduated in 1972 and took several classes at University of Michigan - Flint. He began work at various jobs before working at General Motors for 10 years. Later he found his dream career working at Young & Welshans Bookstore and later at Border’s Bookstore before retiring.
Larry was a true bibliophile (lover of books) which included his personal library collection of 764 books. Other hobbies included painting, hand-crafted jewelry, travel and collecting international bank notes for their artistic design.
Larry is the son of deceased Clyde and Donnavieve Wing. Larry is survived by his husband of 43 years Ralph Bedell. Larry’s side of the family includes his sister Diana (Wing) Jensen (& Warren Westervelt). He has 4 nieces and nephews, 8 grand nieces and nephews, and 1 great-grand-niece. Larry had one brother Gary Wing who predeceased him in 2003.
Memorial Visitation will be held at Swartz Funeral Home 1225 West Hill Road in Flint, Michigan on Friday, December 15, 2023. Visitation for family will start at 3:00 pm and friends from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Memorial contributions in memory of Larry may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
