MASON, William “Bill”
Bill was born on June 6, 1948 in Flint, Michigan, and joined his parents, Maxine (Snyder) and Gordon on January 26, 2021.
He lived his entire life in Flint, graduating from Flint Central High School in 1967.
He worked for the City of Flint for over 20 years, retiring in 1995.
Bill loved the outdoors, spending time on the beach in Rogers City with his beloved dog, Hickory, soaking up the sun on his boat, trapshooting with his dad, cross-country skiing, reading, fishing and especially bird hunting.
He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Bill loved his rock and roll music and dancing. He loved playing and watching sports-basketball and playing paddleball at the YMCA.
Bill also loved to travel, especially to Cancun and northern Michigan.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his loving companion of 30 years, Sherry Murphy;
his son, Timothy (Jennifer) and daughter, Lindsay (Michael) Ferrara;
the mother of his children, Torrey Van Slyke;
step-son, Patrick (Jill) Murphy;
step-daughter, Kimberly Gray;
grandchildren, Austin, Oliver, Penny, Cianna, Riley, Paris, Ireland and Asia;
great-grandchildren, Ashton, Levi and Lydia;
special friends, Bill and Carol Sipley and their children, Sarah and Bradley.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever or Natural Resources Defense Council.
Memorial service to be held at a later date.
