Liebengood, Leland G. – of Clio, age 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at his residence. Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place. A private celebration of life will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Leland was born February 15, 1933, in Lapeer, Michigan, to the late Karl and Janie (Skinner) Liebengood. He attended and graduated from Bendle High School. Leland married the love of his life Eleanor Mockbee on November 12, 1955, they shared 68 wonderful years together. He was a United States Army Veteran. Leland worked at AC Sparkplug for 30 years, retiring in 1982. In his free time, Leland found solace in the simple pleasures of life. Whether it was cheering on his favorite NASCAR drivers, absorbing the excitement of the races. His skilled hands and creative mind could fix anything, and he found joy in woodworking and tinkering with various projects, leaving behind beautiful works of art and memories for those who were fortunate enough to receive them. His unwavering kindness and willingness to listen made him a trusted confidant and an unwavering source of support. More than anything he was an amazing husband, dad, grandpa, and friend who will be missed by many.
Surviving are: Loving wife of 68 years, Eleanor Liebengood; Children: Debby (Larry) Dehmel, Diane (Phil) Dickey, Karl (Joy) Liebengood, Todd Liebengood, and Marsha (Joe) Kuzava; Grandchildren: Aimee (Patrick) Howell, Chris (Whitney) Dehmel, Jason (Cat) Dickey, Jesse (Leasa) Dickey, Lindsey Darnell, Colton (Madison) Dickey, Stefan (Lauren) Liebengood, Kameron (Candice) Liebengood, Ashley (Bobby) Green, Ethan (Brianda) Liebengood, Cody Liebengood, Cole Liebengood, Sean (Sydney) Liebengood, Jordan Kuzava, and Ben (Anna) Kuzava; He was blessed with 32 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren; Sister, Connie Creighton.
