WEYANDT. DORSEY D. (Jack) - Of Flushing, age 100, died Friday, March 22, 2024 at his
residence.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, April 1, 2024 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Pastor Steve Beigle officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park

Dorsey was born in Claysburg, Pennsylvania on June 27, 1923, the son of Edward and Emma Weyandt. He married Constance Louise Beigle on July 23 1945. They then celebrated 73 yrs of marriage. Dorsey was a long-time member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Flint and UAW Local #659. Mr. Weyandt was a proud WWII Army Veteran, serving in the Battle of the Bulge. He attended meetings with General Patton. One of his life highlights was being selected for an Honor Flight to Washington D.C. He was an avid golfer. He worked 12 years for the Pennsylvania Railroad before moving to Flint. Mr. Weyandt was employed by General Motors Metal Fab where he opened the plant and stayed for 38 years, retiring in 1989. Dorsey enjoyed 30 years of being a snowbird to Vista Gardens Condominiums in Vero Beach, Florida, where he and Louise built the greatest of friendships.
Surviving are: 2 children, Linda Harland (Dennis) of Flushing, Ronald Weyandt (Jackie)
of Grand Blanc.
3 Granddaughters, Holly Skiver (Dan), Jenifer Weyandt of Grand Blanc and Tracey
Whittey of Flushing.
8 Great Grandchildren, Bethany Bylsma, Mikayta Weyandt, Drew Whittey, Lauren
Whittey, Daniel Skiver, Brynlee Skiver, Addison Weyandt and Kaiden Weyandt. 1 Great-Great Grandchild, Jamison Bylsma
Mr. Weyandt was preceded in death by his wife Constance; his parents; sister. Iona Shepler; brother, Alvin Weyandt
