Williams, Karen C.- of Clio, age 70, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held at 11AM, Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday from 4PM until 8PM and on Wednesday from 10AM until time of service.
Karen was born January 16,1952, to the late Robert and Mercedes (Zimmerman) Ashley. She graduated from Carmen-Ainsworth High School and from there went on to further her education at Eastern Michigan University. Before raising her two children in Chesterfield, VA, Karen enjoyed teaching at Holy Rosary in Flint. Karen enjoyed arts and crafts and spending time with family and friends. She was a great Scrabble player and would never say no to a game of Rummy. When her sons were growing up, their friends often referred to Karen as their second mother due to her nurturing and loving demeanor. Her sweet kindness and indelible warmth of her heart left an impression on all who knew her and she will be greatly missed.
Karen is survived by her two sons, Chris Williams and his wife Susie, of Boston, MA, and Ryan Williams and his son Blake, of Chester, VA; sister-in-law Darlene Ashley of Clio; nephew Robbie Ashley and his wife Wendy of Clio; niece Laurie Smith and her husband David of Flint; nephews Kevin, Jason, and Nathan Locascio; niece Gina Teeple; and many dear great nieces and nephews, and their children. She is preceded in passing by Buzz “Buzzy Bear” (her beloved Scottish Terrier); brothers Gary Ashley and Greg Ashley; and sister Bobbie Ashley.
