WILLBANKS, Geneva Clyde – of Millington, age 86, died Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Gross Assisted Living. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, Michigan. Pastor Garrett Starr officiating. Burial in Thetford Township Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.
Geneva was born May 10, 1937 in Rockmart, Georgia to the late Hampton and Fleetie (Tant) Dawson. She grew up in Georgia and Arkansas before moving to Millington, Michigan where she graduated from Vassar High School with the class of 1978. On May 8, 1953 she married Freddie Willbanks and he preceded her in death on April 9, 2008. Geneva was a lifetime member of the Clio Church of God where she sang in the choir, played the piano and was a member of the ladies group. She loved singing, playing the accordion and the piano. Geneva enjoyed crafting, writing poetry, gardening, and her flowers. She loved knitting and crocheting blankets for babies. She also made slippers for her friends and family. However, her greatest joy in life was her family.
Surviving are: children, Freddie (Joan) Willbanks Jr., Janice (Clark Harding) Willbanks, Connie (Gary) Balcom, Caralon (Tim) Carbarry; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Freddie Willbanks; sisters, Dorothy Parker, Margaret Sharpe.
