KRANZ, Karen Leigh (Metzger), Age 80, died on July, 7th 2022 in her Flint Township home surrounded by some of her many loved ones. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, July 11, 2022 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473 with Chaplain Tom Tengler officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday and 10 AM - 11 AM Monday at the funeral home. She attended Flint Technical High School until it closed in 1959, graduating from Flint Southwestern in 1960. Karen married Frederick Kranz of Swartz Creek on March 28th, 1964. Karen had 2 children, Kristy (Tim) Sloan and Timothy Kranz, but her caring and friendly natured lead to her being considered a “second mom” to Allen, Nancy, Paula, Barb, Jo Ann and many more. Karen loved people, especially her husband, children, grandchildren (Colton Beren and Cara Beren of Grand Blanc) and her extended family. She worked primarily for Genesys Health Sytems/Hospital where she made several longtime friends. Karen loved pets (especially her beloved dog, Blue) anything funny, had s great sense of humor, and was a great listener and friend to talk to. She was preceded in death by several close loved ones including her mother, Grandmother (Hildred) and Grandfather (Charles L.) Mundy, her Aunt Margaret (Tackabury), and her cousin Mary Jane (Rumbold) VonBrockdorff. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
