Theodore “Ted” was born in Flint, Michigan on August 19, 1938, the son of the late Frank J. and Marguerite (Lannin) Flick.
On April 19, 1958 Theodore married Elizabeth “Betty” Macko and together they started their family. Shortly after they moved to Gaines, MI where they raised their two daughters.
Ted was a tireless and hardworking man. He sought work at a young age and worked many trades to provide for his family before retiring in 1994 from General Motors after 37 years of service.
Throughout his life Ted enjoyed hunting and fishing with a reverence for the beauty and serenity of nature. Ted never missed a chance to get away from the city and visit his community of friends on Fletchers Pond in Hillman MI. In his retirement, Ted awoke every morning with the sun. He wouldn’t miss a chance at being the first to cast a line or march into the woods to spot a buck and loved to share these moments with family and friends, as long as they could keep up.
Ted enjoyed taking his motorhome to explore the country’s beauty and was able to take his dream vacation driving across the country, up through Canada to Alaska.
He was an adoring grandfather and spent many weekends watching and cheering on his grandchildren's sporting events. He became an avid Detroit Lions football fan, despite Patrick Mahomes being his favorite quarterback. His quick wit and wisecracks kept everyone entertained and on their toes. He never passed up an opportunity to crack a cold beer and “shoot the crap” with a neighbor or buddy.
Surviving are his two daughters, Rhonda (Philip) Millikin and Stephanie (Jacek) Glowacki;
brother, Larry Flick;
grandchildren, Kendra, Ryan, Olivia (Kyle), Matthew (Katrina) and Nicholas
(Lexi);
great-grandchildren, Trevor and Beau.
Theodore was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth.
