COMPTON, Yvonne - Of Burton, age 99, passed away Monday, August 9, 2021 at The Oaks at Woodfield in Grand Blanc.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30am Saturday, August 14, 2021 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison,
Reverend Father Andrew A. Czajkowski officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation 4-8pm Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Visitation 9:30am Saturday at church until the time of the Mass.
Yvonne was born in Flint, Michigan on June 2, 1922, the daughter of the late Louis and Minnie (Sparks) Stoutenburg. On May 4, 1946, she married the man down the street, James Compton at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Flint. After 65 years of marriage, James passed away in 2011.
Surviving are children, Cheryl (Ed) Kacon of TN, Bruce of St. Helen, Mark (Amy Petiprin) of Fenton, MI, and Eileen Brown (Greg Tomkinson) of Flint Twp.;
6 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren;
And numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by damn near everyone, including her parents, mother and father-in-law, Arlie and Julia Compton, brothers and their wives, John Orville (Betty, Norma), William (Anna and Mary), sister, Berniece, daughters-in-law, Karen and Becky, great-granddaughter, Ashlyn Mooney, nephew, Gary, brothers-in-law and their wives, Bernie and Gloria Compton and Joe and Rita Compton.
