COX, Ricky “Rick” Lynn – of Flushing, age 61, died Sunday, January 24, 2021 at McLaren Flint. Private family services will be held on Saturday. Pastor Ed Emmerling officiating. Burial in Montrose Township Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Friday, January 29, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose, Michigan. Memorial contributions can be made to the Greater Flint COVID 19 Relief Fund. Following Covid-19 and government regulations, only 25 people are allowed in our chapel at one time, and masks are required. Thank you for your understanding.
Ricky Lynn Cox was born September 29, 1959 in Gladwin, MI to the late Burton Sr. and Ethel (Reed) Cox. Rick was an assembly line worker at General Motors and proud UAW Local 598 member. Rick met the love of his life, Lori Thompson, in October of 1979 and they have been inseparable for the past 41 years. Rick was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He loved his entire family with all his heart. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and loved to make everyone laugh. He also enjoyed playing golf, watching football & hockey, and listening to his large collection of music. But there was nothing that he loved more than spending time with his grandkids.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lori Thompson; children: Jason Thompson of Westland, Jennifer (Casey) Shann of Dewitt; his four grandchildren: Camren, Mason, Grace, and Leah; his siblings: Sandy Meek, Kaye (Ron) Draper, Bill Cox, twin brother Randy (Mary) Cox, and Tim Cox; and many nieces and nephews that he adored. He was preceded in his death by his parents, mother-in-law Ida Thompson, three brothers Bob, Jerry, and Sonny, brother-in-law Chuck Meek, sister-in-law Judith Thompson, niece Rachelle Cox, and nephews, Danny, and Baby Ryan.
