James V. Pelton
Jim passed away peacefully from Lewy Body Dementia on January 17, 2022. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life service will be June 3rd at Holly Presbyterian church at 11am. Visitation from 10 until time of service.
He was born October 15, 1957 in Flint Mi. to Merton and Bonnie (Jackson) Pelton and raised in Holly Mi. After graduation from Holly High School in 1976 he received his Electrical Engineering degree from Ohio Tech in 1979. He moved to New York state, working for Borg Warner, Smith Corona, and Cornell University. Jim also received a degree in computer science.
Jim was a Reiki Master and enjoyed using his skills to help people (and animals). He worked with the Happy Healers group and was an active member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Cortland, New York.
Jim leaves behind his best friend Jason, siblings Michael, Frances, Margaret (Rick) Perry, and Thomas (Cheri), three nieces, Lyndsey (John) Schulze, Holly and Miranda Pelton, one nephew, Alex (Heather Rowan) Perry, and one great nephew Timothy Schulze.
He was preceded in death by his parents Merton and Bonnie Pelton, grandparents and one cousin.
The family would like to thank Jason for all the care he gave to Jim over the last several years.
