Joseph Robert Dore, Sr. of Flushing, Michigan, age 87, died Saturday, June 11, 2022 at his home. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at St. Robert Catholic Church in Flushing. Fr. Prabhu Lakra will officiate. Burial to follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. & 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 14 at Rossell Funeral Home, and 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church until the time of the Mass. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to St. Robert Catholic Church.
Joe was born in Bay City, Michigan on August 12, 1934 to Floyd and Minnie Dore. He enjoyed walking & visiting with neighbors during his walks. He cherished time spent with his family, especially eating Sunday dinners together, watching sports, and throwing back a few cold ones. He had a special place in his heart for dogs. He retired from General Motors in 1991 after 30+ years of loyal service.
He is survived by his sons, Joe (Salliann) Dore, Jr. and Michael “Mickey” (Teresa) Dore; grandchildren, Ryan Vince, Jenna Vince, Joey Dore, Jacob Dore, Coby Dore, and Elijah Dore; and son-in-law, Kevin Vince (Suzette). He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Dore; daughter, Suzette Vince; and brother, Paul Dore. |
