SANBORN, Lucille (Crampton) – of Flint, age 94, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2014 at her residence. A Funeral Service will be held 12 PM Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. Burial will be in Meadowview Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 11 AM – 8 PM Wednesday. On Thursday, visitation will begin at 10 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Davison VFW Post #4087 Ladies Auxiliary.
Lucille was born in Columbiaville, MI on December 26, 1919, daughter of the late William and Muriel (Clohs) Crampton. She married Robert A. Sanborn, Jr. on September 20, 1940 and he preceded her in death on March 26, 1977. Lucille retired as a nurse in 1974 from Flint Osteopathic Hospital. She spent her winters in San Benito, TX from the winter of 1976 through June of 2006. Her summers were spent in Michigan. She was a member of the Davison VFW Post #4087 Ladies Auxiliary, having held many offices at the local and state levels.
Lucille is survived by her children, Robert D. (Carol) Sanborn of Davison, Allison (Michael) Borha of Grand Blanc and Patricia Frasher of Flint; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; brother, William J. Crampton, Jr. of Columbiaville; sister, Lila Linson of Tucson, AZ; sisters-in-law, Violet Terry of Springhill, FL, Catherine Kenyon of Davison and Jeanne Crampton of Otisville. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Sandra Taljonick and Carol A. Hollenbeck; two sisters and three brothers.
