Robert K Reed joyfully joined his wife of 72 years, Enid, in their heavenly home. Robert is the father of Diane Reed Loew (Wendell Loew), David Robert Reed (Sunday), Rebecca Reed Szucs (Stephen Szucs), Cathy Reed Waun (Lee Waun) and Mark Alan Reed (Laurie). Along with his five children he has fifteen grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. His two sisters Gwendolyn Gill and Mary Phillips will miss him greatly.
A big “Thank You” to Sherene Skeen for her loving care and kindness to Robert the last few months. She is a huge blessing to the whole family and is now considered a sibling among them.
Robert was gifted with many skills. One being that he built his home that he and Enid lived in for over 70 years. A wonderful home that his children returned to as often as possible.
His wit was a mainstay that never let up and was a constant companion that everyone enjoyed.
Robert was a mainstay at First Wesleyan Church. He was in leadership roles most of the years he attended whether it be Sunday School Teacher, Board Member or one of the key builders of the church. He was a spiritual guide to many who sought his wisdom and prayers.
He spent many years as a Tool and Die maker for General Motors. He loved hunting, fishing and being out in God’s kingdom enjoying the wildlife that God created.
His most important role was prayer warrior for his family. Many hours were spent with the Lord over his children and grandchildren’s spiritual well-being. There will be a great reunion because of his love of his Lord and family.
Visitation 10 a.m. and Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 25, 2025 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Heart-to-Heart Hospice.
