Thomas “Otto” Arnold Echlin age 76, passed away at home August 16, 2023. Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Friday, August 25, 2023, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Rossell Funeral Home and 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's until the time of the Mass.
Tom was born in Flint, Michigan to Arnold and Marian Echlin, December 6, 1946. Upon graduating from Scared Heart High School in 1964, Tom entered the workforce at Buick where he remained until he retired. Tom was an avid fisherman and had a passion for fireworks. Of all the words used to describe Tom, boring isn't one of them.
He is survived by his children, Kelly (Daniel) McEnrue, of Flushing, Bethany (Mitri) Vanitchtheeranont, of Champaign, Il, Walter Echlin of Grand Blanc; sister, Carol Murphy of Utica; brothers, Dan Echlin of Mt. Morris, Michael (Jennifer) Echlin of Flushing, Donald (Twinkle) Echlin of Davison; and 9 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents, Arnold and Marian Echlin; sister-in-law, Betty Echlin; niece, Ellen Murphy; and special friend, Michelle Finch.
Now this is what the LORD says - He who created you, O Jacob, and He who formed you, O Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine!"
