DEMARS, Elaine E. – of Lapeer, age 88, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2022 at Devonshire Retirement Village. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapeer, in Elaine’s memory.
Elaine was born in Flint, MI on January 11, 1934, daughter of the late Milton and Ruby Burnham. She married William DeMars on December 29, 1972 and he preceded her in death on June 12, 2015. Elaine practiced nursing for many years and was particularly fond of her years with the American Red Cross. In addition to spending time with family and friends, she enjoyed golf and her therapy dog, Buddy.
Elaine is survived by her children, Bill DeMars, Pam Griffin, Cindy (Eric) Zydel, Sandra (Tom) Kresse, Karen (Don) Elgas, Mark (Sandra) Brooks and Gary (Heidi) DeMars; many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, Gertrude Barth.
