Reo Jane Leach (McAra) passed away on June 29, 2023 in Venice Florida at the age of 99 surrounded by her loving children. Reo was born in Burton Township, later moved to Flint and was a graduate of Flint Central High School. She met the love of her life, Harley at the age of 17. They married a year after he returned from WWII in October of 1947. They lived in Flint for 25 years then moved to Grand Blanc, Michigan. They became “snowbirds” in 1980 enjoying the warm, sunny Florida weather. Reo became a fulltime resident of Florida after Harley passed away. Reo was an active member of the Venice Presbyterian Church.

Reo was loved deeply by her family. She was easy to love. She was known to all who met her to be kind, caring, funny, warm-hearted making friends everywhere she went. While raising small children, Reo volunteered in the Flint Junior League, Needle Work Guild, YWCA, PTA, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. She worked for many years in the Federal Bankruptcy Court as an executive secretary for Judges Bobier, Bernstein, and Spector. She was a beloved member of the staff because of her organizational skills, kind spirit and sense of humor.

Reo and Harley spent summers on the Grand River, near Grand Haven enjoying boating on Lake Michigan with family and friends. Retirement years were divided between Michigan and Florida with wonderful friends in both locations. Reo is remembered most for bringing groups of people together to celebrate and enjoy life. She loved the holidays but also created special moments out of many smaller occasions because it was an opportunity for friends to gather, share food, a good drink and plenty of laughter. Everyone, everywhere always commented on Reo’s appearance. She never went anywhere without looking her best. She was known for matching outfits and jewelry, great hair. Even in her final days in assisted living it was a topic of amazement. Reo was a lifelong avid reader which was a great source of joy in her later years. The last few years were spent at Aston Gardens with a loving care team. For the past three years her special caregiver, Marie Noel provided daily support and love. Sue Laskowski also provided regular assistance. The family is eternally grateful for these two wonderful women.

Reo is survived by three children, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Scott Leach (Sylvia) of Grand Blanc, Michigan; Lynn Cochran (Greg) of Park City, Utah; and Jill Momber (Rick) of West Michigan.
