Kosta “David” Todorovsky
Kosta Todorovsky, 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 27th, 2023, at Regency Healthcare in Grand Blanc, Michigan with his family by his side.
Kosta was born on May 16th, 1934, in the village of Bouf / Akritas in West Macedonia, Greece., to Jovan and Yana Todorovsky. Kosta loved his family, friends, and community. He was a lover of music, dancing, broadway plays, the orchestra, world news, and politics.
In 1942 Kosta fled to Yugoslavia due to the war. Yugoslavia is where he spent his childhood, got educated and began to work. There he met his future wife, Lubitsa. They got married on December 21st, 1954.
Shortly after his marriage, he immigrated to the United States, where he made Flint, Michigan his home. He worked alongside his father at the Central Luncheon on South Saginaw Street in downtown Flint.
He later became the co-owner of the Ritz Drive Inn on Hemphill Rd, the Ritz Lounge on S. Saginaw and Atlas Coney Island on Corunna Rd. After 60 years in the hospitality business, he retired in 2017.
He was a founding member of the Saint Nicholas Orthodox Church in Burton, Michigan and an active member in his community, many referring to him as “Uncle Dave”.
Kosta is survived by his loving wife, Lubitsa, his two daughters, Anastasia (Nikola) Pirkovic, and Diana (Brian) Mitevski, and six grandchildren: Stevan (Ivana), Philip, Anthony (Dragana), Saso, Monica, David.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jovan and Yana, his brothers Sime and Dimitri, and his sister Anastasia.
Visitation will be 3-8pm Tuesday November 28th, 2023 at Swartz Funeral Home located at 1225 W. Hill Rd, Flint, MI 48507. A Parastas Service will be held 7pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home. The funeral will take place 11am Wednesday November 29th, 2023 at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church located at 2143 S Center Rd, Burton, MI with a showing at 10am Wednesday until the time of the service.
