LUDTKE, Richard Herold – Of Plymouth, age 81, died Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at St. Mary's Livonia, Michigan.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Woodlawn Cemetery, Clio, Michigan, Dr. Max B. Hayden officiating.
Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery in Clio, Michigan.
Richard was born in Stockbridge, Michigan on May 14, 1940, the son of Herold and Beth (Leach) Ludtke and was a resident of Gregory, Ypsilanti, Ann Arbor and Clio, Michigan.
He graduated from Cleary College in 1963, with a BBA in business and a member of the TKD Fraternity.
On November 30, 1963, he married Barbara Blackmore in Ann Arbor.
Mr. Ludtke started in the kitchen business in Ann Arbor. He continued in kitchen and bath design and sales for 45 years in Flushing, being employed by Kitchens by Starline.
He was a member of the Kitchen and Bath Association and Genesee Homebuilders Association for many years.
He was a member of the Clio Area Jaycees and Bethany United Methodist Church when his children were young.
His favorite activities included meeting people, golfing with his son, Brian, being on his pontoon boat, spending time with his friends and playing in his Monday night golf league.
After retiring in 2014, Richard and his wife (Barbara), moved to a condo in Plymouth, Michigan to live close to their children and grandchildren. After 58 years of marriage he always enjoyed the cabin at North Lake.
Surviving are wife, Barbara (Blackmore) Ludtke;
daughter, Elizabeth and husband Robert McCue;
son, Brian and wife Shelly (Richardson);
three wonderful grandchildren, Benjamin, Alexis and Abigail;
brothers, Robert (Doris) Ludtke and Gary (Roberta) Ludtke;
nieces and nephews, Scott, David, Eric, Chad and Emily.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth (Leach) Ludtke and father, Herold W. Ludtke.
