Shirley Doreen Sullivan, age 87, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2017. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am on Friday, August 25, 2017 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11804 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc. Father Dan Westermann celebrating. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 12-2pm and 4-8pm with a Rosary Service at 7pm at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, and again on Friday, one hour prior to mass, beginning at 9:30am at church. Shirley was born on May 25, 1930 in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada to parents Lester and Flora (McGregor) Balliett. She married Dr. McDermott R. Sullivan, M.D. on February 17, 1953. Shirley worked as a nurse for many years for Genesee Memorial and St. Joseph Hospitals. She lived in Flint from 1953 to 1965 when she moved to Grand Blanc. She received her nursing degree from Regina General Hospital. Shirley was a long time member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Warwick Hills Country Club and the Genesee County Medical Auxiliary. Surviving are children Susan (Sullivan) Barclay, Portland, OR, Janet (Davis) Sullivan Grand Blanc, MI, Steven and Lori Sullivan, Dallas, TX, Patty (Sullivan) and Noel Casey, Grand Blanc, MI, Joe and Linda Sullivan, Vancouver, WA, Linda (Sullivan) and Kevin Davey, Warwick, RI, Nancy (Sullivan) and Jimbo Heard, Basalt, CO, Kathy (Sullivan) and Alan Matney, Ann Arbor, MI, Barb (Sullivan) and Ernie Kollar, Carbondale, CO; 21 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents Lester and Flora Balliett; husband McDermott R. Sullivan, M.D.; son, Michael M. Sullivan; son-in-law Glen N. Barclay, M.D.; sister and brother-in-law Carol and Jack Mathieu, brother and sister-in-law Barry and Sandra Balliett; several nieces and nephews.
