HOLICKI, Mary K. – of Mt. Morris, age 89, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, April 29, 2021. Funeral services will be held 11AM Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at Trinity Assembly of God - 4363 W. Mt. Morris Rd., in Mt. Morris. Burial in Montrose Township Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the church on Monday from 3PM until 7PM, and Tuesday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hurley Children’s Hospital – Children’s Miracle Network, or the Humane Society of Genesee County.
Mary was born June 29, 1931, in Flint, Michigan to the late Donald and Virginia (Vincent) Thorne. She married Joe Holicki in 1947, they enjoyed 53 years together before he preceded her in death on January 17, 2001. Mary later married Robert Hazzard on February 3, 2007. In her earlier years, she was the head pastry cook at Southwestern High School and later worked as a physical therapy aid at McLaren Hospital for many years. Mary was a faithful member of Trinity Assembly of God. She loved being a caregiver, volunteering, and visiting people in nursing homes. Mary’s happiest time of her life was living on Wilson Road when all her children and grandchildren would come over every weekend and they would have dinner and fun hanging out together. She loved her time on Coldwater Lake at her son, Joe’s home, enjoying fun times on the lake with the entire family, and Terry making biscuits and gravy.
Surviving are: Husband, Robert Hazzard; Children: Denny (Shelley) Holicki, Laurie Rockwell, Dr. Joseph (Heidi) Holicki, Karen (Terry) Allman, and Tony (Shawn) Holicki; 18 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; Many nieces. Mary was also preceded in death by: Granddaughter, Dana Holicki; Son In law, Denny Rockwell. The family extends a special thank you to all the nurses and staff at Hurley Hospital CICU, and comfort care for all their love and care.
