Marilyn Ann (Brewster) Gushen age 88, went to be with her Heavenly Father on January 13, 2025. She was born in Cheboygan on August 16, 1936 to Russell and Helen (Newman) Brewster. She met Morris Gushen in Cheboygan where they were married in 1959.

Marilyn was a teacher for 32 years, where she touched the lives of many, influencing children to grow into successful teachers, attorneys, dentist
West Pointe graduates and countless other professions. Marilyn was actively involved in many organizations and activities. She was a member
of DKG (Delta Kappa Gamma), St. Charles and Helena (Clio) Council of Catholic Women, St. John Catholic Church (Fenton) Marriage Preparation,
and Cheboygan Roundabouts. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, knitting, reading and traveling. Marilyn made countless Halloween costumes, clothes, knitted sweaters, scarves, and dishcloths. In addition, she was passionate about quilting; joining quilting groups in both Traverse City and The Villages in Florida and creating many quilts for gifts and donations to charities, some even award-winning! She has traveled the world
including numerous camping trips to Northern Michigan and out west with her family, Arizona and California to visit friends, shopping trips to
the Amish country, Alaska, the Holy Land, Ireland, and Scotland, to name a few. Her most special trips were those that allowed her to dedicate time to her grandchildren, whether in North Carolina, Florida, or Michigan.

The family would like to offer special thanks to the staff and residents at Li Waters Buell Lake in Clio and to Swan Hospice. They gave Marilyn
exceptional care and grew to love her, as she did them in the short time she was there.

Marilyn is survived by her daughters, Teresa (Bruce) Gingerich and Cynthia (Greg) Paro; grandchildren, Daniel Gingerich and Jamie
Gingerich; brother, Gerald Brewster; 3 sisters-in-law, Alice, Beverly and Barbara Brewster; seven nieces, nine nephews, and many great nieces and
nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris (2018); brothers, William “Bill”, Edward “Bud”, Jack and James Brewster; Sisters-in-law,
Norma Jurk and Jean Brewster; Great niece Amber Scheele; several beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and her parents.

Friends may visit at St. Mary/St. Charles Catholic Church, 120 North D Street, Cheboygan, Michigan 49721, on Monday, January 20th from 4-8 p.m. with the parish vigil at 6:30 followed by the rosary. Visitation will continue at church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m. with Fr. Thomas Philip officiating.

Interment will take place in the spring at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bishop Baraga Foundation or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
