McQuigg, George Mason, Jr. of Flushing, age 93, died Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at his home. Cremation has taken place.
George was born in Flint, Michigan on May 23, 1930, one of seven children born to George and Adeline (Burr) McQuigg. George married Sharon Groulx in Flint, Michigan on September 29, 1956. After 61 years of marriage, Sharon preceded him in death on August 18, 2018.
George is survived by his sons, Larry and wife Carolyn McQuigg, Kevin McQuigg; grandchildren, McKenzie, Garrett; and great-granddaughter, Natalia.
George, aka “Uncle Bud”, was the last of seven siblings and called himself the last of the Mohicans. Dad served his country during Korea in the army and served the Flint community for 25 years as an officer in the Flint Police Department. The legacy that Dad leaves is one of consistency. His consistent love for his wife, family and life left a standard to live by. Dad was grateful, compassionate, kind and generous. He never expected much out of life and accepted everything it had to offer with a smile. Dad never lost his sense of humor and bopped to big band music up to the day before he died.
