MUELLER, CHARLES “CHARLEY” – Of Swartz Creek, age 89, died Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at Regency at Grand Blanc, with family by his side.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 10, 2025 at Court Street United Methodist Church, 225 West Court Street, Flint, Reverend Jeremy Peters officiating.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Court Street United Methodist Church or the Humane Society of Genesee County.
Visitation 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. Sunday, February 9, 2025 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Mr. Mueller will be at the church from 10 a.m. Monday until the time of the service.
Charles was born in LaSalle Township, Michigan on February 17, 1935 the son of the late Fredrick L. and Elsibeth C. (Schroefel) Mueller.
Charley attended Flint Northern High School, graduating in 1953.
On June 6, 1959, he married Maryetta W. Hildenbrand at the Court Street United Methodist Church in Flint, Michigan, and she preceded him in death on June 8, 2017.
Mr. Mueller served in the U.S. Army from 1957 – 1959.
He worked as a toolmaker at General Motors for over 40 years, retiring in 1993.
He was a longtime member and active member of the Court Street United Methodist Church. He loved to bowl and golf; having achieved top status with a Hole in One in Golf and a 300 game in bowling.
Surviving are his children, Craig Mueller, Chuck (Diana) Mueller,
daughter-in-law, Mary Mueller;
grandchildren, Jennifer (Trevor) Hendrick, Mike (Brooke) Mueller, Brittney (Takoma) Curtis, Brianna (Nick) Thompson and Michael (Kelli) Jones;
great-grandchildren, Bryleigh Rowlands, Nolan and Liam Hendrick, Beckham and Parker Mueller, Grayson and Harper Thompson.
He was preceded in death by his son, Marty; 5 brothers, Hans, Walt, Heinie, Fred and Bill and 6 sisters-in-law.
