BAKER, Debra “Debbie” Lee – Of Flint, age 58, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Hurley Medical Center.
A brief service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 28th at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Burial to follow in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Debbie was a lifelong resident of Flint, Michigan. She was born in Flint on July 14, 1964, the daughter of the late Bryan H. and Joanne (Weir) Baker.
Debbie attended Southwestern High School and for most of her young life growing up she worked at the family business, Baker’s Drug Store. She later worked for her brother John at his store, Seventh Heaven, for many years. Her son Dylan was the light of her life and she was eagerly anticipating becoming a grandma for the first time to her son’s unborn child. That’s all she talked about.
Debbie had a magical magnetism about her that drew people in. She was beautiful, witty, smart and sweet. She possessed a childlike innocence and loved children. She adored her family, her nieces and nephews, and has many lifelong friends. Her favorite pastime was relaxing while watching reality tv, drinking an ice-cold coke, playing Words with Friends on her phone and tablet, and being with her beloved dog, Roxy, who she spent every day with.
Surviving are lifelong partner, Troy Raysin;
Son, Dylan Raysin (special friend, Nikoyia Shahid and her daughter, Cydni, who Debbie loved like her own grandchild);
Siblings, Bryan (Kimberly) Baker III, Frank Baker, Martha Baker, Susan (Robert Blair Jones) Baker and Judy (Paul) Houle;
Many nieces and nephews, three grand-nephews;
And Drakkari Young who she loved like a son.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bryan and Joanne Baker, brother, John Baker; and sister, Elizabeth Baker Porte.
In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions in Debbie’s name to the American Cancer Society.
