ELLSWORTH, Gary Donald – of Flint, MI, age 82, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2023. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5191 Richfield Road, Flint, MI 48506; Rev. Fr. Kenneth Coughlin celebrant. Interment immediately following the Mass in Tanner Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 4-7 PM Monday, April 17, 2023 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423 and 10-11 AM Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Memorial Services conducted under the auspices of the Davison Knights of Columbus Bishop Albers Council 4090 and the Ardon F. Dubie Fourth Degree Assembly 0523 will be held 6 PM Monday, April 17, 2023 followed by a Rosary at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ardon F. Dubie Fourth Degree Assembly 0523, in Gary’s memory.
Gary was born in Flint, MI on October 15, 1940, son of the late Donald and Josephine (Skacall) Ellsworth. He was a graduate of Kearsley High School Class of 1958. Gary married Margaret Ososki on August 22, 1959 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church and she preceded him in death on September 1, 2021. He was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus and a member of Davison’s Bishop Albers Council 4090 and the Ardon F. Dubie Fourth Degree Assembly 0523. Gary was also a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He retired from AC Delco in 1997 after many years of service. Gary enjoyed fishing, camping, cooking, grilling and rescuing cats.
Gary is survived by his 4 children, Gail (David) Zuwala, Greg (Yvonne) Ellsworth, Martin Ellsworth and Marcella (Patrick) Prevo; 5 grandchildren, Aaron (Jeaneen) Ellsworth, Lisa (Wesley) VanEver, Kristal Ellsworth, Amber (Charlie) Beville and Jayzie Prevo; 4 great-grandchildren, Jasmine Ellsworth, Gavin Ellsworth, Chloee Ellsworth and Dean Beville; many other loving family members and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Josephine Ellsworth; wife, Margaret Ellsworth; twin siblings, David Ellsworth and Diana Coon.
