Marlene Janet Smith, 71, of Hillman, MI, passed away on Friday, October 29, 2010 at Alpena Regional Medical Center. She was born on January 12, 1939 to Albert and Eva (Cronkrite) Casterton in Ann Arbor, MI. She married Jack Smith on June 30, 1957 in Howell, MI. She worked for Mastercast in Howell, MI for 18 yrs, then after moving to Hillman, worked for Wayne Wire for another 22 yrs as well. She enjoyed crafting, especially crocheting, and listening to country music. Marlene also loved to fish with her husband.
Marlene is survived by her husband, Jack; sisters, Beverly Horner of Fowlerville, MI, Dianna Jean (Duane) Davis of Las Vegas, NV, and Gwendolyn (Chuck) Gagnon of Marlatt, MI. She was preceded in death by her brother, Albert "Joe" Casterton Jr.
Funeral services for Mrs Smith will be held on Monday, November 1, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Green Funeral Home, Hillman, MI, Pastor Donald R Derby officiating. Interment will take place at Hillman Rust Twp Cemetery. Visitation hours will be held on Sunday from 4-8 PM at the funeral home.
