SMITH, Eunie A. Jr. “Smitty” - Of Flint, age 86, died Sunday, August 20, 2023 at Wellbridge of Fenton.
A graveside service will be held 9am Friday, August 25, 2023 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly, MI 48442.
Friend and co-worker, Richard Beauchamp officiating.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Eunie was born in Paragould, Arkansas on March 22, 1937, the son of the late Eunie and Lilly Mae (Snyder) Smith. He married Katie M. Barnett in 1956. Eunie served in the United States Army from June, 1960 to May, 1962. He was employed as an electrician for General Motors V-8 Engine Plant for 43 years. Eunie’s main interest in life besides his family was flying his plane.
Surviving are wife, Katie;
daughter, Michelle and husband Keith Sauve of Montrose;
son, Jeffrey and wife Tammy Smith of Grand Blanc;
grandchildren, Jared Sauve, Trevor Sauve, Wyatt Smith, and Abigail Smith;
He was also preceded in death by a brother at birth and close friend, Leonard “Red” Perry.
The family extends a thank you to Dr. Linda Norrell and the staff at Compassus Hospice.
