Elizabeth Ann Niles (Tootsie) age 86, passed away at her home in Flint, Michigan on Monday April 3, 2023. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place at a later date.
Toots was born in Flint, Michigan on July 24,1936 to the late Harry and Mary (Bury) Skindzier. She was the middle child of three children (Ted, Cookie). She met her high school sweetheart (Ronald Dale Niles) while attending Flint Northern High School. They married two years later in 1956 and recently celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. Together they settled in Flint and raised four children.
Toots relished being a wife and mother. Her children can attest she was patient, kind and loving. She was even tempered and was always supportive and encouraging.
Toots could prepare any type of wild game and everyone loved her homemade pies and cakes. She loved reading, going to the movies and the library, cooking, baking, music, bingo, scrabble, and taking care of her family.
After raising her children, she volunteered 10 years with the McLaren Auxiliary.
Toots will be remembered as a selfless, altruistic wife and mother who always had a smile on her face. She never complained and had a gentle, quiet strength about her.
Toots is survived by her husband Ronald (Dale) Niles, her four children; Ronald (Kevin) Niles of Flint, Dee Balistreri of Hartland, John Niles of Swan Creek Township, and Sherry (Greg) Miller of Mandeville, LA. Grandchildren; Alesha Niles, Chelsea Niles, Ronald (Christopher) Niles, Stephen Niles, Nicholas Niles, Dayla Balistreri, Patrice Balistreri, Denise Balistreri-Cleveland, Danielle Leshin, Toni Boynton, Jack Reece Miller, Darielle Miller, and Kallista Miller.
Her beloved sister Cookie (Paul) Misener of Milington.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Mary Skindzier, brother Ted Skindzier, brother in law, Rod LaFave and son in law, Robert Balistreri.
Although she will be greatly missed by all who loved her, the family finds comfort in knowing that she is with Jesus.
