SHELTRAW, Charles (Charlie) Loren, age 55 of Flint passed away on July 14th, 2021 at home surrounded by loving family.
Charlie was born June 10th, 1966 to Loren Sheltraw Sr and Lois (Boillat) Moro. He attended Carmen-Ainsworth schools, and lived most of his life in the Flint area. In his early 20s he moved to San Diego, California where he worked construction for SanMateo Brothers for 10 years. Charlie then returned to the Flint area where he continued to work in construction and was later employed by B-Dry Poured Walls, where he became a crew chief. In his later years he was independently employed in lawn care.
Charlie was a generous person, regardless of how little he might have, Charlie was not only willing to share, he insisted, that was his nature. Many times when Charlie would go for walks and see an elderly person working in their yard he would stop and offer his help, often turning down any compensation.
Charlie enjoyed watching movies and sports programs, going for long walks, spending time in the park, camping, cooking and gardening, but his favorite thing to do was to cook out on the grill. Everyone loved Charlie for the person he was, and will always remember him humble and grateful, with his funny sense of humor and his red hair.
Charlie is survived by his father Loren (Mary) Sheltraw Sr., mother Lois Moro, siblings Karen (Phil) Boillat, Kim (Jim) Ruzzin, Jeannie Whiteside, Jackie Moro, Cher'ie (Patrick) Fisher, Jamie Whiteside, Shawn (Candice Gattica) Sheltraw, step brothers Mickey (Tami) Bauchan and Matthew Bauchan, as well as many neices, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his brother Loren Sheltraw Jr., sisters Jodie Sue and Susan Lynn Sheltraw, uncle Lawrence Sheltraw Jr., grandparents Harold and Jeanette Boillat, and Lawrence and Evelyn Sheltraw Sr.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
