DILLON (nee LEDROW), Mary E. – Of Burton, Michigan, age 80, died Monday, October 18, 2021 at Medi Lodge-Clare.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, October 22, 2021 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Mike Brown officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to VFW Auxiliary #1452.
Visitation 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday and 11 a.m. Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Mary was born in Flint, Michigan on September 16, 1941, the daughter of the late Frank E. and Beatrice (LaPointe) Ledrow.
On October 28, 1961 she married Arlie Dillon in Mt. Morris and he preceded her in death.
She was a member of South Flint Tabernacle; lifelong member of VFW Auxiliary Post #1452; lifetime member of the Fairwinds Girl Scout Council. She was a Happy Hollow Day Camp Coordinator, Girl Scout trainer.
Mary also ran her own daycare for most of her life. She helped raise most of her family and then helped with the elderly. She was a nurturer and “neighborhood mom”.
Surviving are children, Becky (Brian) McCoy and Shari (Chuck) Pifer;
grandchildren, Monika Hoeft, Janae (Kevin) Holloway and Dillon Hoeft;
great-grandchildren, Gareth “Bear”, Rhyett, Korra, Aliviona and Forrest;
siblings, Susan Goodenough and Kathryn (Steve) Kirby and
brother-in-law, Kirk Wells.
Special thanks to the staff of Medi Lodge of Clare, Heartland Hospice and special cousin, James Painter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arlie Dillon; siblings, Frank O. Ledrow, Roger Ledrow, Beverly Wells, Evelyn Lowrance and Ronald Kirby.
