DORR, Lyle Max – Of Davison, age 85, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at Lapeer Medical Center.

Max was the son of Eudora (Kratsch) Dousman and Daniel Lyle Dorr (Jean). He had two half-brothers, Mark Dousman and Brad Dorr, half-sister Kimberly (Dorr) Gaide.

Max had 2 children, Julie Lynn and Tracy.

Max was born in Flint on April 21, 1938. He graduated from Davison High School, Class of 1956. Max worked at GM for 43 years. Max always loved cars. He and his cousin, Jerry each purchased a Buick Rivera, (Jerry a 1963 and Max a 1964).

He earned his pilot’s license and purchased a 2 seater Cessna, called the Blue Max. Max found a couple of new loves after flying, collecting and selling of Hot Wheels Cars.

Max fell in love with the card game euchre, you could say he was obsessed with this card game, anytime anywhere, he was up for the game. He played at family gatherings, at clubs and tournaments and that is where he met his good friend, Roxie.

Max was a very kind, giving man, always wanting to help someone in need. He volunteered at the Food Bank with his good friend Tom Fish, packing boxes and placing the food boxes into people’s cars. He also would pick up the boxes so they would have the boxes to pack the food.

Because of Max’s love for animals, he donated money and volunteered at the Genesee County Humane Society. When friends would know of someone that were looking for a dog or cat, they would let Max know, and low and behold Max would find that person the perfect animal.

Max loved to see and make people laugh and smile.

Max is survived by his daughter, Julie, special cousin, Jerry Hancock and many second cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Tracy and very special friends, Pat Peleski and Mary “Roxie” Tacker.
