NORKO, Edward Paul - Age 93, of Flint Twp., passed away August 20, 2022 surrounded by family. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Thursday, August 25, 2022 at St. Robert Catholic Church, 310 N. Cherry St., Flushing. Fr. Anthony Brooks celebrant. Entombment will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Wednesday, August 24th, with a rosary at 7PM at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek and from 10AM until the time of Mass Thursday at the church. The family strongly encourages that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Flint Powers Catholic High School, the Father Charles Jacobs Educational Trust Fund of St. Roberts, or Medical Team Hospice. Edward was born August 22, 1928 in Flint, the son of Paul and Terezia (Brandt) Norko and was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp. He married Jina Pileri on September 6, 1952; she preceded him in death on April 14, 2021. Edward retired from General Motors after 45 years of service. He was dedicated to his family, loved spending time with them and especially enjoyed holiday gatherings. He enjoyed gardening, tending to his roses and wine making. He was an avid Notre Dame Football and Detroit Tigers fan. Edward is survived by his children; Anthony (Cynthia) Norko, Terrence (Deborah) Norko, Teresa (Bryan) Palmer, Brian (Melissa) Norko, daughter-in-law, Cynthia Norko, nephew, Frank (Teresa) Szabo; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jina; son, Timothy; grandson, Brandon; siblings, Carol, Dorothy, Paul, Sister Helen Marie, Ann, Margaret, Joe, Jack and Bernard.
