KAHL, Avonne Marie, age 86, of Flushing, passed away Monday, February 10, 2014 at Hartland Assisted Living. Funeral Services will be 6:00PM Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Reigle Funeral Home, 5501 E. Pierson Rd., Flushing. Fr. Paul Schwermer officiating. Entombment at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be 3:00-6:00PM Thursday, February 13, 2014 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Avonne was born August 6, 1927 in Cleveland, Ohio the daughter of the late Walter and Zella (Lewis) Krusel. She married Robert Kahl on September 2, 1950 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Flint and he preceded her in death on April 13, 2012. Avonne was a member of St. Roberts Bellarmine Catholic Church, Flushing. She enjoyed bowling on a league and swimming in her free time. Later in life Avonne and Robert enjoyed traveling together to many places, and enjoyed time in the state parks, including their favorite, Higgins Lake. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be missed dearly, and remembered forever.
Surviving are her four children, Linda Kahl of Flint; William Kahl (Melanie) of Hartland, Thomas Kahl (Cindy) of Brighton, Mary Danford (Mike) of Lewisburg, TN; ten grandchildren, Melia, Samantha, Devin, Josh, Mitchell, Shannon, Micheal, Cody, Adam, Nathan; great-grandson, Aidan; two sisters, Noreen Gusie and Ruthie Anderson (Barney) both of Flint; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her son Matthew Kahl.
