MERRILL, Norman Bruce – of Clio, age 87, died January 12, 2024 at McLaren Flint. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, January 19, 2024 at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, Michigan. Rev. Carol J. Freeland officiating. Burial in Esmond Evergreen Cemetery in Hale, Michigan. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, January 18, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Flint Eastside Mission.
Norman was born October 17, 1936 in Flint, Michigan to the late Edwin and Verna (Madison) Merrill. He grew up in Flint and graduated from Beecher High School with the class of 1956. On June 15, 1979 he married Lois Kemper in Flushing, Michigan and she preceded him in death. Prior to his retirement in 1986, Norman worked on the line at Ternstead Fisher Body on Coldwater Road with 30 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and woodworking in his younger years.
He is survived by his 5 Children, Debra (Steve) Wilson, Norman “Danny” (Laura) Merrill, Larry (Debbie) Woods, Phillip (Vicky) Woods, Susan (Rob) Trott; 18 Grandchildren, 28 Great Grandchildren; Siblings, Charles (Hazel) Merrill, Joan(Dale) Link. He will also be missed by Pauline Jordan, Kathy (Garry) Davis, Tim (Cindy) Johnson, and Terrie (Kelly) Hengy. Norman was preceded in death by his Parents; Wife, Lois Merrill; Daughter, Linda Marie Bookout; Siblings, Richard Merrill, Bruce Merrill, Raymond Merrill.
