Gerald Roger Jankowski, 82, of Lapeer, died Wednesday December 6, 2023 surrounded by family. He was born August 8, 1941 and raised in Wyandotte, to parents Jerry and Martha (Thomas) Jankowski. Jerry married Sandra L. Vendal on November 30, 1963 in Detroit.
Mr. Jankowski proudly served his country in the United States Army. Jerry has always been a hard worker, two lengthy jobs that helped create the confidence and knowledge to open Aladdin's Cleaning & Restoration. He was so proud of this business and his family involvement there, he owned and operated Aladdin's for over thirty years. Jerry treasured his time spent in Caseville, their great friends there and being on the water. He loved his dogs but his family was the world to him. He will be missed. Those who knew him, appreciated his humor; Jerry ‘wasn’t a gynecologist but he was happy to take a look.’
Jerry is survived by his wife of 60 years: Sandy, children: Tim (Amy) Jankowski, Tracy (Gary) Goulet, grandchildren: Tim, Abigail (& Keegan), Rachel, PFC Alex and Claire, siblings: Robert Jankowski and Roxanne (Gordon) Cooper. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Randy and Thomas Jankowski, Marlene Yost, Donna Jankowski as well as his aforementioned parents.
Cremation has been entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. Jerry’s memorial service will be Wednesday December 13, 2023 at Muirs, officiated by Fr. Robert Howe. The family will receive friends the hour prior, 10-11am. Military honors will immediately conclude services. Interment will take place in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, on a different day.
