McLEAN, David J. - Age 85, of Swartz Creek, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2026. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, March 9, 2026 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Burial in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday from 4-8 PM and Monday from 10 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Swartz Creek American Legion Post #294.
David was born November 10, 1940 in Flint, the son of Lester and Nina (Barr) McLean. He was a 1958 graduate of Fenton High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving from 1959-1965. He married Maureen Rose Burgess October 20, 1967 in Swartz Creek and she preceded him in death June 12, 2013. David retired from GM Buick Motor Division in 2000 after 34 years of service. He was a member of U.A.W. Local #599. He also was a member of Swartz Creek Volunteer Fire Department, Swartz Creek American Legion Post #294, and Swartz Creek AmVets Post #3720. He enjoyed garage saleing, riding scooters, watching western's, reading, and playing cards.
Surviving are: his children, Teresa A. Thompson of Swartz Creek, Thomas (Sue) McLean of Flushing, Charles B. McLean of Lennon, and Erin L. McLean of North Carolina; 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great granddaughter; brothers, Richard (Jennifer) McLean of Davison and Lynn McLean; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Carolyn and Frances. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
