Hackett, Warren J., age 84, of Flushing, Michigan, went home to be with God and their previously deceased daughter, Karen, on November 18, 2018. Memorial Mass will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at St. Robert Church of Flushing. Fr. Johnathan Perrota will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hyde Park Memory Care.

Warren was born May 16, 1934 in Saginaw, Michigan. He went to high school in Saginaw and graduated from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and was a Sargent and tank commander in the Armor Division. He was employed by General Motors in the accounting department for 32 years. He married Mary Lawler in 1960. Warren loved his motorcycle, bicycle, and was an avid boater for several years.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary; children, Suzanne (Douglas) Brandt of Rochester, Michigan, Amy Hackett, and David (Nicole) Hackett of Flushing, Michigan; son-in-law, Nelson Namnama of Honolulu, Hawaii; grandchildren, Brendan and Brice of Honolulu, Hawaii, Andrew of St. Louis, Missouri, Elizabeth Mary of Ithaca, New York, and Samantha and Richie of Flushing, Michigan; beloved friend who is more like family, Dave Bonk of Flint.

A special thanks to Heartland Hospice for their loving care and compassion during these last months. Also, the staff at Hyde Park Memory Care will always be remembered for their outstanding commitment to providing comfort to Warren and his family during a difficult time.
