BENSON, Nanna (Kilburn) – of Davison, MI, age 69, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at Ascension Genesys Hospital. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Danyiel Griffin officiating. Interment immediately following in Sunset Hills Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 4-7 PM Tuesday, June 14, 2022 and 12-1 PM Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Allen Funeral Home.
Nanna was born in Whick, Kentucky on November 17, 1952, daughter of the late Pryce and Lillie (Strong) Kilburn. She married Alton Vernon Benson on May 24, 1971 in Flint, MI and he preceded her in death on February 11, 2022. Nanna retired from General Motors in 2008 after 30 years of service. She loved shopping, singing with her husband, playing competitive Rummy, trips to the casino and she especially loved spending time with her family. Her grandchildren were her everything.
Nanna is survived by her 2 children, Vernon (Brooke) Benson and Tina (Montez) Tucker; 2 step-children, Marcus Benson and Nedra Benson; 5 grandchildren, Arica Benson, Allysen Benson, Jaylin Tucker, Brady Benson and Montez Tucker II; 4 step-grandchildren, Marcus Benson, Eric (Sabra) Benson, Chad Benson and Amanda (Jacob) Walling; 12 great-grandchildren, Ethan Benson, Aiden Benson, Landon Benson, Corbin Benson, Kaysleigh Benson, River Benson, Francis Benson, Ellinore Benson, Owen Benson, Nolan Benson, Dierks Walling and Wesley Alton Walling; brother, Carl Kilburn; many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pryce and Lillie Kilburn; husband, Alton Benson; niece, Ethel Burks; very special nephew, George Wilson; 4 siblings, Elmer Kilburn, Marie Dixon, Mary Akemon and Jackie Kilburn.
