Detman, Gisela Irma (Funke) – of Clio, Michigan age 88, died Saturday, April 26, 2025, surrounded by family at home.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 1:00pm with a Memorial service following at 2:00pm at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint MI 48507.
Gisela was born in Germany in the town of Söllichau on September 19, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Martin and Irma (Pertzsch) Funke. She had a brother, the late Manfred (Rita) Funke, and sister, the late Ursula and the late (Klaus) Grünert.
She worked as a nurse in Wiesbaden, Germany. Where she met and married Dale Detman from 1962 until 1978.
They moved to Michigan and raised 4 children; Frank Detman, David Detman (Deb Piper), Patricia Detman-Brown, and Debra (James) Stuart.
She was the proud grandma to Derek Detman, Kyle Detman, Kasey Brown, Kregery Brown, and Rachelle Detman.
Her great grandchildren include Ivy Detman-Baker, Natalie White, Paiton Mater, Jaxson Mater, and Kohlton Brown.
Her greatest pleasure was spoiling the above-mentioned grandchildren, and being nanny to Priya and Alec Tirtha, and caregiver to many children during her lifetime. |
