Franklin Ernest Piske, age 94, of Burton, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 in Holly, Michigan. Franklin was born on May 27, 1928 in Gary, Indiana to the late John and Emily Piske. On December 31, 1950 Franklin married the love of his life, Carol Irene Peterson. He served in the Korean War from 1951-1953 in the United States Army. Returning from war he worked at Fisher Body for 38 years. After retirement, he volunteered for the American Red Cross for 29 years as a driver; Carol would often join him on his travels. He was a member of Golden Years Club in Mayville, MI and Burton Senior Center. Franklin loved gardening, car shows and his daily walks with his lovely wife, Carol. He was a wonderful man and will be deeply missed. Franklin is survived by his wife of nearly 72 years, Carol Irene Piske; children: Paul (Iris) Piske, David (Vickie) Piske, Diane (Carl) McElrath; grandchildren: Sherrie (Dan) Smith, Jackelyn Smith, Ryan (Chrystal) Piske, Rory (Nate) Lemoine, Stacey (Paul) Michanowicz, Jenny (Mark) Andrews, Jaime (Noah) Smalley, Jessica (Randy) O'Neal, Sarah (Andy) Ricketts; 24 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Emily Piske; sisters, Carole Piske and Leah Lajoie; brother, James Piske; and son, Mark Piske. Private family services will be held. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Grand Blanc, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Burton Senior Center in memory of Franklin.
