STRICKLAND, Margaret J. – of Flint, age 83, died peacefully on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at Ascension Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc. Honoring her wishes, cremation will be taking place. No services are scheduled.
Margaret was born September 9, 1937, in Clio, Michigan to the late Harold and Lucille (Gardner) Verran. She was the eldest of 13 siblings. Margaret married Roger Kish, they raised 7 children in Clio and enjoyed 27 years together before he preceded her in death. She enjoyed canning tomatoes from the family garden, making homemade ice cream, and creating items by hand – especially knitted blankets, and clothing for family members to cherish. Margaret was an excellent cook and always hosted family parties and picnics. Above all, Margaret’s life revolved around her children and family. She was the family anchor that held them all together, and she loved everyone dearly.
Surviving are: Sons: David Verran, Roger Kish, Richard Kish, Thom Kish, Blake (Rosario) Kish, and Chad Kish; Grandchildren: Holly Verran, James Kish, Roger Kish, Sarah Kish, Vanessa Kish, Lauren Nemeth, Meghan Nemeth, Amber Kish, and Zakery Kish; Great grandchildren: Promise, Bear, and numerous others; Sisters: Kathy Villagomez, and Bernadette McFarlin; Lifelong friend, Katie Knack.
