JENSEN, Herbert - age 88, of Gaines, died August 4, 2022. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, August 8, 2022 at Gaines United Methodist Church, 117 W. Clinton St., Gaines, MI 48436 with Rev. Barbara Benjamin officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Gaines. Visitation will be held from 2-7 PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473. Visitation will also be held from 10 AM - 11 AM Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Carman Ainsworth Educational Foundation, G-3475 W. Court St., Flint, MI 48532. Herbert was born November 24, 1933 in Flint, the son of John W. and Gertrude L. (Stauffer) Jensen. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a graduate of Michigan State University where he earned his Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree and Specialist Degree. Herbert retired from Carman Ainsworth Schools after 38 years. He was also an active member of Gaines United Methodist Church. Surviving are: wife of 18 years, Charlene Jensen; daughter, Pamela (Chris) Sarkisian; three grandchildren, Christopher II, Shahanna, and Ohannes Sarkisian; two sisters, Sally Jensen and Dorothy Munsell; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his parents; his first wife, Emma (Szakal) Jensen; and sister, Elaine Ebner and husband, George.
